Albion are looking to bolster their squad.

Brighton are reportedly targeting a World Cup bound striker.

Albion were the 4th lowest scorers in the 2017/18 season, with Glenn Murray carrying the sides attack.

The club are adamant that they will have greater depth next season.

The signing of Deportivo’s Romanian international Florin Andone has set the wheels in motion.

However, if Brighton could bag their next target, it would be a real statement of intent.

Albion will hope to swoop in on Haris Serefovic.

The striker struts his stuff at Benfica, an established Champions League outfit.

However, he only netted 7 times for the club last season, and has subsequently fallen down their pecking order.

Serefovic boasts Champions League experience with Benfica

With the side bringing in Nicolas Castillo and Facundo Ferreyra, they are now ready to ship off Serefovic.

The asking price is just under £9 million, a handsome sum to pay, but worth it to boost Albion’s survival chances.

Albion aren’t the only club in the running for the Swiss international though.

Reports suggest that West Ham and Wolfsburg are also interested.

The two clubs have greater financial power at their disposals, and will be seen as representing better league and European prospects.

However, with playing time short last season, Serefovic may opt for the more surefire option in Albion’s starting 11.

Serefovic has, despite his marginalisation at Benfica, kept his place in the Switzerland squad for this years World Cup.

Those keen on eyeing their potential future man could see him lead the line against champions-elect Brazil on Sunday.
