Albion has finally done what fans were hoping they would do. With a range of strong defensive and attacking reinforcements already brought in all that was left to improve was the midfield.
The club has strong midfield players, including their player of the season Pascal Groß, but all sides can benefit from added depth. Albion has achieved their goal, bringing an exciting young prospect who could transform the clubs approach.
Yves Bissouma, a 21-year-old talent, has signed for the side. The Malian international adds talent to the squad, bringing his pace and skill to a midfield which could do with some flair.
He signed from Lille, a side who narrowly fought off relegation last season. While below Lille’s targets, the side has often represented quality. In fact, they are the side Chelsea bought Eden Hazard from. The Belgium man is now unquestionably one of the worlds best, and Albion will be hoping Bissouma can shine as brightly.
Manager Chris Hughton has spoken of his excitement at bringing such an exciting prospect:
“We are delighted to have signed Yves, and are pleased to welcome him to the club.”
He also is delighted to have added strength and depth to the side: “We have been keen to strengthen the squad in the central midfield positions, and this will add to our options in this area. I am very much looking forward to working with him.”
To have brought in a player who at 21 has international footballing pedigree is a great acquisition for the club, and could see them further raise their level.
