The Banff Mountain Film Festival, one of the world’s biggest and most prestigious mountain festivals, is coming to Brighton this year.
Every year the best adventure films head off on the international festival around the globe, stopping off in around 40 countries. Starting in Banff, Canada, in 1975, the festival toured the UK for the first time in 2010. Now it has over 100 screenings across the country.Â
The festival presented by Snowline Media includes two Brighton shows on different dates, each with a completely different selection of films. The Red Film Programme will be held on Wednesday 1st February, and the Blue Film Programme will be held on Tuesday 28th March.Â
The event features a brand-new compilation of short films full of extreme expeditions, wild characters and captivating cinematography. Guests can expect to view the works of some of the world’s greatest filmmakers and talented outdoor heroes in the celebration of mountain culture through film.Â
Guests can experience the visual journey of thrilling adventure up on the big screen, watching explorers and thrill-seekers climb, ski, paddle and ride into remote corners of the planet. The unmissable event will ignite participants’ passion for adventure, action and voyage.
Each screening will show around 7 to 8 films featuring inspirational tales of adventure from across the world, adrenaline-pumping action films and all that’s in between. The showings bring together link-minded individuals and enthusiasts of the outdoors with a passion for cinema and nature. There will be competitions, prizes and goodies for guests to win, and the programme will be split into two parts, with an interval and live prize draw. Prizes include bundles of excellent gear from the sponsors and more.Â
Tickets for the individual dates in Brighton Dome Concert Hall start from £18, and doors open at 18:45. Under guidelines, children under 12 are advised to be supervised by an adult.
