Following the critically acclaimed success of their UK Top 40 debut POSTINDUSTRIAL HOMETOWN BLUES, Black Country duo Big Special—comprised of Joe Hicklin and Callum Moloney—return with a surprise new album, NATIONAL AVERAGE, released today (4th July) via So Recordings.
Wasting no time in building on last year’s momentum, Big Special continue to channel their signature fusion of raw emotion, post-industrial grit, and working-class poetry—delivering another powerful, resonant body of work that speaks directly to the times.
To celebrate the release, the band has also announced a major run of UK instore performances, kicking off tonight in London. The tour will see the duo travel across the country for intimate, high-energy shows, including a much-anticipated stop at Brighton’s Resident Records on 14th July at 6:30pm.
Fans can expect visceral, heart-on-sleeve performances that have become Big Special’s calling card—alongside the chance to grab the new record in person.
