Bingo and Brighton have gone hand-in-hand for decades. The classic British activity was once the staple of weekend evenings out across the seaside city. Decades ago, though, bingo faded from the spotlight, but it has now come roaring back thanks to a whole host of creative folks adapting the game in new ways.
One of the most highly rated of these has had the Brighton crowd in fits of laughter already and will soon be returning for another round. This is Bogan Bingo, a bottomless brunch comedy-bingo event that received a five-star review from us back in July. At the end of November, the Bogans will be back for some mayhem in mullets!
Bogan Bingo’s Coming Back to Brighton
While certainly a niche corner of entertainment, Bogan Bingo stands as the UK’s longest-running comedy bingo show. Of course, the game of numbered balls and cheeky calls is at the core of the action. Around it, you’ve got a couple of Aussie comedians running the show of 80s and 90s rock music, lots of stand-up, and a hefty brunch offering.
The July dates in Brighton showcased just how stacked the event is, from the show itself to the bottomless brunch. The food and drinks menu has something for everyone. Vegan and vegetarian choices are available, as well as the stacked breakfast burger. It all helps to make the event all the more bombastic.
After food and some warm-up drinks, in comes the Aussie chaos. The mullet-loving duo will have the crowd crying with laughter as they bounce between their rendition of bingo, their sudden twists to audience participation, and all of the new surprises the Bogans have in store.
Bogan Bingo makes its way back to Brighton for another inventive way to play the classic lotto game on 22 November. Tickets for the festivities at Komedia, which begin at 12:30, go fast, but they’ll be back again in February, March, and June next year.
Meeting the Demand for New Bingo Action
Bingo has fully bounced back thanks to the creativity that people have applied to make it appealing in new ways. Bogan Bingo combines brunch with bombastic Aussie comedy, for example. The game has also found a way to reach one of the largest audiences within its sector online by blending itself with another.
This is the world of bingo slots online, otherwise known as Slingo. The Slingo series has become so popular that its developers have been empowered to explore a huge range of themes and features. Now, there’s Slingo Thunder of the Gods, Slingo Da Vinci Diamonds, Slingo Cleopatra, Slingo Day of the Dab, Slingone Fishin’, and much more.
In all of these, the core and much-loved bingo is at the heart of the experience, but a bit of extra spice or a twist on the format has been added. Beyond brunch and a slots-bingo merger online, nightclub-style bingo has also surged. Hijino Bingo offers a futuristic experience, while Bongo’s Bingo and Ultimate Rave Bingo go all-in on being a club event.
