Birmingham City have confirmed the signing of centre-back Eiran Cashin from Brighton & Hove Albion on a season-long loan.
The 23-year-old becomes the seventh new arrival under head coach Chris Davies as the club prepares for its return to the Championship.
A graduate of Derby County’s academy, Cashin made 144 appearances for the Rams before joining Brighton in January. He featured twice off the bench in the Premier League for the Seagulls earlier this year, appearing against Aston Villa and Brentford in April.
Cashin expressed his enthusiasm for joining a club he sees as rapidly progressing both on and off the pitch.
“You can see in the media everything happening at the club—the trajectory it’s on is clear,” he said. “That’s something that’s hard not to buy into. I know the owners have been investing heavily, and the manager’s style of play really suits me. The quality of the recent signings shows the club’s ambition.”
He joins a growing list of summer signings at St Andrew’s, including permanent deals for Demarai Gray, Bright Osayi-Samuel, Kyogo Furuhashi, and Kanya Fujimoto, as well as fellow loanees James Beadle and Tommy Doyle.
After winning League One with a record points total, Birmingham City are back in the Championship following a one-year absence. They will open the 2025–26 season at home against Ipswich Town on Friday, 8 August, in the league’s curtain-raiser.
