The Stories Behind the Results
terre à terre takes Best Brighton & Hove Restaurant for the second time in three years — a landmark moment for the city’s celebrated vegan and vegetarian kitchen on East Street. Amanda at terre à terre said: “An award chosen by the public is especially meaningful — it reminds us why we open the doors every day.”
Embers retains Best Sunday Roast for a second consecutive year, confirming its place as Brighton’s definitive fire-cooking destination.
Jo & Co delivered the standout double — Best Brunch and Most Family Friendly. The team’s response: “It’s double fantastic — we can’t stop smiling.”
MOGUMOGU was the breakout winner, storming to first in International Cuisine. A name to know in Brighton’s food scene going forward.
The Signalman won Best Pub for the first time — described by its team as “a home from home for everyone.”
The Real Junk Food Project took Sustainability Champions with characteristic directness: “Feed bellies not bins — that’s not just a motto. It’s a movement.”
The Perennial Champions
Some venues have become BRAVO institutions. terre à terre, Fatto a Mano, Starfish & Coffee, La Choza, Flour Pot Bakery and Oeuf Café have appeared in top positions year after year — a testament to consistency, quality and genuine local loyalty.
Sussex Rising
The 2026 BRAVOs mark a notable shift: Worthing is emerging as a serious foodie destination, with increasing recognition across categories. The awards now reflect a Sussex-wide food culture, not just Brighton and Hove.

Ten Years of the BRAVOs
BRAVO founder Nick Harvey: “Over 71,000 votes shows just how valued Brighton’s independent, creative food scene is. Despite ongoing challenges, hospitality is resilient and dynamic.”
What began in 2016 as a grassroots celebration of independent Brighton hospitality has become the region’s most important public food vote — and a genuine measure of which venues the city truly loves. In 2026, that support has never been clearer.
