Brighton Fringe standup comedy – Kate-Lois Elliott comes back to Brighton
The show sold out at VAULT Festival, Watford Palace Theatre, Camden Fringe and Brighton Fringe (where it premiered last year) and is now coming back to Brighton before heading to Hastings, Museum of Comedy London, and Edinburgh in the summer.
British Writers’ Guild Award nominee Kate-Lois Elliott tells stories that are self-deprecating and (according to a drunk man at the Fringe) unexpectedly profound.
Gentrif*cked – a work in progress – is a debut show about finding your purpose. Join Kate on a journey through village life, thirty-something existential crises and finding belonging without joining a cult… (specifically not like her grandma did).
It’s a show about finding your purpose when everything around you feels like it’s descending into chaos. It’s about different generations and how we all end up asking the same questions. It’s about wanting the simple things VS wanting to be Beyoncé (there’s only one Beyoncé!). And it’s about the extreme measures people will go through to feel like they belong.
