The Brighton Girl Awards 2025 has reached an incredible milestone, with more than 40,000 votes cast as the final week of public voting begins. The awards, which celebrate the businesses and pioneers who make Brighton a great place to live, have seen an outpouring of support from the community as people champion their favourite local changemakers.

With just one week left before voting closes, excitement is building for the next stage of the competition. On International Women’s Day (Saturday 8th March), the Top 5 finalists in each category will be announced before progressing to the final judging round, where expert panels will determine the winners.

The awards recognise achievements across 20 categories, celebrating all aspects of life in the city. From Employer of the Year and Professional Service of the Year to the best in hospitality, retail, and creative industries, the awards shine a light on Brighton’s most inspiring individuals and businesses. One of the most anticipated titles is Brighton Girl of the Year, an award given to an outstanding individual who has made a significant impact on the community.

The Brighton Girl Awards are an evolution of Brighton Girl, a community founded in 2016 by Pippa Moyle. After moving to Brighton as a graduate and struggling to find friends, Pippa started a small local group to connect with like-minded women. That idea quickly grew into City Girl Network, a national organisation that now reaches 150,000 women and femmes across the UK, including 50,000 in Sussex alone.

“The response this year has been phenomenal,” said Pippa, founder of City Girl Network. “Brighton is full of people who go the extra mile to make it such an incredible place to live, and these awards are a chance to recognise and celebrate them. With over 40,000 votes already cast, we’re excited to see who makes the Top 5 when we announce them on International Women’s Day.”

With just days left before voting closes, Brighton residents are encouraged to get their final votes in. The winners will be revealed at the Brighton Girl Awards ceremony on Thursday 27th March at PLATF9RM Hove, a night dedicated to recognising the city’s most inspiring businesses, pioneers, and community champions.

Voting remains open until Midday on Thursday 6th March, and votes can be cast online at www.citygirlnetwork.com/brighton-girl-awards.
