Brighton Thai food festival was in full swing on Saturday at Preston Park. The two day event had stalls with traditional Thai food, Thai massages, a raffle and much much more. I attended the event on Saturday, where Thailand’s traditions and cultures came to life in the centre of Brighton.

There were lots of performances throughout the day including dances, fashion shows and demonstrations. The day began with monk chanting blessings and a Thai massage demonstration, with traditional dances in intervals.

The moment everyone had been waiting for was the lady boy show. The eccentric outfits and performances definitely lived up to its expectations.

Following this there was an ‘I am British, Get me out of here’ eating competition and a boxing demonstration. Surrounding the stage were stalls with traditional Thai foods, clothing and ornaments for people to purchase.

Performances of traditional Thai music and singing brought the day to an end. Although the weather wasn’t as good as anticipated, the day was thoroughly enjoyable. The two day event is also underway today with all of these performances to enjoy.
