Evl Tom is a pioneer of UK breakbeat culture. Having cut his teeth as half of hip hop and breakbeat sensation Evil Nine, he brings a myriad of influences to bear on his debut album, ‘Absolute Melt’ released on the sister label of Brighton’s own Jack Said What Imprint (Out Yer Box), headed up by Irvine Welsh of Trainspotting fame.

To celebrate the launch and his 50th birthday, he invites his contemporaries to play an epic B2B2B (back-to-back-to-back) at the Brighton Electric on March 1st.

Joining him on the musical session is Grammy Award-winning Alex Metric, who previously produced Silk City and Dua Lipas’s track Electricity and the Black Eyed Peas album ‘The E.N.D.’ as well as remixing pop dance luminaries N.E.R.D., Daft Punk, Foals, Gorillaz, or Block Party.

Alex has released many releases and is a master of production across a spectrum of electronic music. He has played at international parties, including Solumon’s Diynamic Land and Skrillex’s OWSLA label events. He is currently working with fellow DJ Riton on a project called KUU.

Joining the three-way DJ booth is Rich File, a seasoned DJ and vocalist best known for his partnership with James Lavelle in the band UNKLE. He also held a DJ residency at the renowned Fabric, London and currently releases music on the Forme and We Fell To Earth labels.

All the artists were once connected or released on another Brighton Dance Music label, ‘Marine Parade’, and have not played together for over a decade.

They are supported by Republic of Music’s Andy Singh, Neal Lewis from Schtumn and Wild Fantasy, and Dan Watts, resident at the Independent Tap Room.
