Fatboy Slim has announced he will be headlining Wild Life 2017 alongside Jess Glynne, as the festival returns to Brighton City (Shoreham) Airport for its third consecutive year.
The festival will take place from Friday 9th and Saturday 10th June 2017. In previous years the festival has run from Saturday to Sunday but the days have been changed to allow the shows to go on until 1am on both nights.
Speaking to the Argus, Hove resident Fatboy Slim is reported to have said: “When they did the first festival, they rung me up and said ‘we know this is your turf but if you perform it will be all about you’. They’ve been respectful about it.
“Last year I wasn’t working and I could actually hear it from my house. I’ve been gagging to do it but at the same time keeping my powder dry.
“It appeals to me because it’s right on my doorstep and I’m chuffed to be invited.”
Fatboy Slim announced his performance via Instagram:
Wild Life was founded in 2015 by dance groups Rudimental and Disclosure.
Other acts also confirmed to perform include DJ and producer Eric Prydz, known for his huge hit singles as well as his ground-breaking releases and live shows under the name Pryda, four-time BRIT Award nominated George Ezra as well as Sussex born winner of the 2017 BRITs Critic’s Choice Award Rag’n’Bone Man.
UK rapper, hip-hop and grime artist Giggs will join our WILD LIFE 2017 line up, having received huge critical acclaim for his 2016 UK number two album ‘Landlord’.
Brighton residents may remember Fatboy Slim’s infamous Beach Boutique concert which attracted an unprecedented 250,000 to Brighton’s seafront in 2002.
Tickets for Wild Life 2017 go on sale on 27 January at 10am.
