Easyjet flights from Zante to Gatwick Airport were cancelled for the last two days due to technical issues.
The airline apologised and said the relief plane which was sent to collect the passengers did not get to the Island before the night curfew.
Zante has banned night flights in an attempt to protect turtles. The loggerhead turtles nest as night and so flights are prohibited to pass over the beaches.
The International Union for Conservation of Nature Red List of Threatened Species has the species listed as ‘vulnerable’.
The airline apologised for the delay and thanked their passengers for understanding.
