From supporting local pubs to building a national community brand—Connected Brighton celebrates four years of impact.
Connected Brighton has officially turned four, and what began as a small idea during lockdown has grown into one of the city’s most beloved community-driven platforms.
Founded by Lyndsey Clay in 2020, Connected Brighton started as a simple but powerful mission: to help people feel less isolated during the pandemic by connecting them over dinners and drinks at local venues—while also supporting Brighton’s struggling hospitality scene.
Four years on, that mission has evolved into a thriving movement. Connected Brighton has brought thousands of people together through curated events, championed local businesses, and helped foster lasting friendships and a genuine sense of belonging for adults seeking connection in the city.
Creating Space for Adults to Make Real Connections
Today, Connected Brighton proudly serves adults aged 35+ through its Social Club—a curated calendar of social events designed to make it easier (and more fun) to meet new people as an adult. Whether members are newly single, in relationships, recently relocated, navigating a life change, or simply craving deeper connection, Connected Brighton offers a warm, welcoming community where friendships are formed and confidence is rebuilt.
From supper clubs and beach walks to black-tie dinners and creative workshops, every event is designed with one goal in mind: to create connection that lasts.
Recognition at the Brighton Girl Awards
In early 2025, Connected Brighton was honoured at the Brighton Girl Awards, where the platform was named one of the Top 3 Communities of the Year, and founder Lyndsey Clay was recognised as Runner-Up for Brighton Girl of the Year.
This recognition reflects not just the strength of the brand—but the depth of its impact. In a city where many adults struggle to find meaningful connection, Connected Brighton continues to stand out as a community-first solution that changes lives.
A Movement with Momentum
In addition to its thriving Social Club, Connected Brighton has expanded to support local entrepreneurs through its growing Connected100 business collective—helping founders, freelancers, and small business owners grow their visibility, build authentic relationships, and find community with other purpose-driven professionals.
Now, with four years of impact behind it, the brand is expanding its vision even further.
- A licence model is in development to bring the Connected experience to cities across the UK, making connection more accessible nationwide.
- Connected Brighton has also begun partnering with hotels, offering curated social experiences to help visitors feel more connected to the local scene during their stay.
- And most recently, the platform is preparing to announce its first major brand sponsor, with more opportunities open for aligned partners who want to make a real difference.
What Comes Next?
From a one-woman idea born in lockdown to a nationally scalable model of community, Connected Brighton continues to prove that connection isn’t just a “nice to have”—it’s essential.
For adults over 35, for the hospitality industry, for entrepreneurs, and for visitors who want more than just a tourist experience—Connected Brighton is rewriting the rules on how we meet, build relationships, and feel like we belong.
Because in a world that often leaves us more disconnected than ever, one thing remains true:
Everyone deserves to feel connected.
