Much-loved Fringe venue, The Warren, will be opening a pop-up summer venue on Brighton beach this Wednesday.
The purpose-built site will host socially-distanced comedy shows, including appearances from the likes of Rachel Parris (The Mash Report) and Milton Jones (Have I Got News For You).
The season kicks off with the critically-acclaimed, off-the-wall clowning show Privates: A Sperm Odyssey, which tells the story of 3 plucky gametes, played by 3 men in white Lycra suits.
Tables and refreshments can be pre-booked for up to six people, who should all be members of the same household or ‘bubble’.
COVID-secure cleaning and safety measures will be in place to keep the audience, staff and performers safe at all times.
The Warren’s Artistic Director, Nicola Hadyn, said:
“There’s no getting round it, these past few months of lockdown have been catastrophic for the arts. But creative people thrive on challenge and ever since March, when we had to cancel The Warren at Brighton Fringe, we’ve been thinking about ways to return safely and effectively.
“We’re so excited to have found a new way to bring live performances back to the city. The Warren Outdoor Season is going to be a different experience to previous years, but with the same fantastic atmosphere and high production values. It’s been a long time coming but I think we’re all ready to have some (socially-distanced) fun again.”
The Warren Outdoor Season opens on 5th August and runs until 27th September 2020. Information about how it will work can be seen here. Book your tickets here. Early bird tickets start from £30 so early booking is recommended.
