As always, we have hand-picked some of the best gigs on in Brighton and Hove for you this week. With the weather looking up as we enter March, it’s time to celebrate with some top quality music in Brighton’s favourite venues. This week includes experimental sounds, R&B, blues-rock, dub and folk, aswell as a little bit more.

Ider @ The Green Door Store, Monday 25th February

Ider, which consists of two London flatmates, was featured in the Guardians’ ‘One to watch’ last September. There sound is a fusion of pop, R&B, and folk-rock, that is palpably unique and lyrically stimulating. Start your week right, with an inspiring performance and honest chemistry.

Kris Barras @ The Haunt, Tuesday 26th February

Kris Barras has been described as one of the U.K’s most exciting Blues-Rock guitarists, and was even voted to be in the Top 15 Blues Guitarists in the world by the readers of Music Radar. He is playing at the Haunt as part of his UK tour, don’t miss out!

Ruddocks Om @ The Green Door Store, Wednesday 27th February

The Dub Collective is bringing Ruddocks Om, a nine-piece Dub Fusion Collective, to the Green Door Store this Wednesday. Each band member brings a different genre, from hip-hop to jazz, to drum and bass. They are hosting this official launch in the hope that they will ‘capture all lovers of heavy bassline rhythms and euphoric melodies.’

Bell Lungs @ The Rose Hill, Thursday 28th February

Bell Lungs is an experimental vocalist and multi-instrumentalist from Scotland. Her performance incorporates a variety of noise, ranging from shrieks, harmonies and pop feels, to create a’ meditative journey through sound’. She has toured extensively across Europe and North America and has appeared on the BBC. She will be joined for this Thursday evening in Brighton by the Raiments, a Berlin-based avant-garde musical collective.

Leif Erikson @ Latest Music Bar, Friday 1st March

It’s March ! It’s Friday! It’s time to celebrate ! We suggest that you boogie with Leif Erikson (the indie-band, not the Nordic explorer). Their uplifting sound will get you on your feet and into the spring spirit.
