Giving Blood In Brighton

Giving blood is something close to my heart, as a child I needed multiple blood transfusions in order to stay alive. I have never actually gone to give blood but realised I would be a bit of a hypocrite writing this post if I didn’t register and make an appointment. So tomorrow I will be giving blood and it took me less than 10 minutes to sign up.

Every minute of every day someone needs blood, approximately 8000 units are needed per day. Which is shocking to find out that only 5 out of 100 people give blood.

If you are between the ages of 17 and 59 and weigh at least 50kg you are most likely eligible to begin saving lives.

In and around Brighton there are many places you can give blood;

  • Brighton Racecourse
  • Sussex County Cricket Club
  • Community Centre Southwick
  • Portslade Town Hall
  • Patcham Community Centre

If you live outside of this area just type your postcode into this website to find out where your nearest venue is.
