This December, a living advent calendar will animate the streets of Hanover during the lead up to Christmas.
Some 41 streets in Hanover will take it in turns to decorate their windows, creating a festive light-show for Brighton’s residents.
Gareth Dee, the event organizer, is calling for more of Hanover’s residents to get involved with the calendar this year.
The organizers require at least one volunteer from certain streets to ensure that each street is lit up for everyday leading up to Christmas.
Gareth is urging anyone from the following streets to please get involved by contacting hanoveradventcalendar@gmail.com.
More volunteers are required for:
- Albion Hill
- Bentham Road
- Carlyle Street
- Ewart Street
- Finsbury Road
- Hanover Crescent
- Hanover Mews
- Hanover Street
- Lincoln Street
- Newhaven Street
- Phoenix Rise
- Queens Park Road
- Seville Street
- Southover Street
- Windmill Street
This year, the organizers have chosen to raise money for The Clock Tower Sanctuary – a local charity that works with 16-25-year-olds who are homeless and insecurely housed.
Collection tins will be provided by those with displays and placed in local pubs in order to encourage donations from those who come to view the light show.
The event also has a Just Giving page which you can use to donate, if you’re unable to reach a collection tin.
The calendar begins on the 1st of December, winding its way round Hanover up until Christmas Eve.
