Ever wish you could just absorb coffee into your blood stream? Are you shocked by how much you actually spend fuelling your caffeine addiction? Yeah me too, which is why Bjournal are really excited, and intrigued, by this new development in wearable technology. The Joule caffeine bracelet is here to distribute caffeine directly into your body, without you even needing to boil a kettle. The bracelet contains a patch which you change daily, and that patch distributes about a cup of coffee’s worth of caffeine into your body. The bracelet regulates your caffeine consumption evenly over the course of four hours, meaning there is no post-coffee crash you always get halfway through the morning.
Whilst this may sound like some weird, post-apocalyptic gadget you see in movies, it actually works the same way as a nicotine patch, and they’ve been around for ages, so it’s a wonder no one has thought of this sooner. Not only do you avoid having to run to the toilet every fifteen minutes, it also won’t be acidic on your stomach nor will it yellow your teeth like coffee normally does. Of course, there is another vital pro to this arrangement, it saves time. You can run on the treadmill, read your book, sit on the train all while happily being injected with caffeine. The bracelet doesn’t even look half bad, it will sit nicely next to your FitBit. The bracelets aren’t available just yet but will be available for purchase in July for a surprisingly cheap $29. This $29 also includes a month’s supply of patches, so you will surely be saving money investing in one of these bad boys. You can pre-order a bracelet here.
