This week Brighton Journal headed down to the beach to meet Klara, a Brightonian through and through, and her adorable pub, Jocshi.
How long have you lived in Brighton?
“I was born here, I moved away when I was 18, and then I moved back when I was 30 and I’m 45 now, so I’ve been here quite a while!”
And in all your years here, what have you decided is your favourite thing about the city?
“The diversity. I love the way that people dress however they wanna dress and no one bats an eyelid. Or if they do it’s cause they enjoy it! That’s what I really love.”
What do you think is the best thing to do in Brighton?
“Well if I tell you then everyone else will get onto it too! I can’t tell you the best, but the second best is going up to my allotment on a busy weekend and just getting away from the crowds.”
And would you ever leave Brighton?
“I’m staying here for life, I’m a lifer!”
