Suffer from January blues? Don’t worry, the Rialto Theatre have the answer! There are lots going on this month at the Rialto, and here are just some of the highlights.
Bleeding Hearts Club: Celebrate new talent on Monday 11th January with the Bleeding Hearts Club. Hear incredible new music, poetry and performance art. The list of acts is yet to be released but it’s sure to be filled with fantastic talent in a fantastic atmosphere. You can book your tickets in advance or buy them on the door.
News Plays Scratch Night: For something different on Wednesday 13th January why not go to News Plays Scratch Night? Four playwrights will produce a rehearsed reading of a fifteen-minute extract of their play. The audience then vote for their favourite of the night. The overall favourite will win a slot at the Rialto Theatre for next year’s Brighton Fringe.
Practically Perfect: Doing a four night run at the theatre, Practically Perfect is the story of icon Julie Andrews. Described as ‘a fast-paced, musical journey into her public and very private life’, the show is written and performed by Alisdair Cardon-Sheard and Samantha Nixon. The show starts on Wednesday 20th January and continues until the 23rd.
So there are just a few of the wonderful things going on at the Rialto Theatre this January. If you New Year’s Resolution was to embrace local talent and culture, then the Rialto is the perfect place to start.
