The LGBTQ icon Kylie Minogue and the electronic trio Clean Bandit will perform at this year’s Pride In The Park in Brighton.
The festival will take place on the first Saturday of August in Preston Park and this year it is set to be a big one for Brighton Pride.
2019 marks the 50th anniversary of the Stonewall Inn riots, now considered by many as the event that led to the gay liberation movement.
To mark this special occasion, Brighton has decided to celebrate in style by inviting one of the most prominent LGBTQ music icon for her first full UK Pride performance.
Kylie Minogue has been considered a gay icon since the late 80s. With an impressive list of chart-topping hits, she is set to be as successful as Britney Spears was last year, performing a sold-out show for 57,000 people.
Clean Bandit will be supporting the Australian pop singer on Saturday. The band, formed in Cambridge, is most famous for #1 hits such as ‘Rather Be’ and ‘Rockabye’.
A spokesperson for Brighton Pride says: “From their origins as part of a string quartet, Clean Bandit have consistently pushed the boundaries of modern pop with a diverse blend of electronic, dancehall, classical, R&B and pop.”
On Monday, Pride organisers announced Jess Glynne and Grace Jones would be the main performing acts of the LoveBN1 Fest, which will take place on Sunday 4th August in Preston Park.
Brighton and Hove Pride is the UK’s biggest pride festival. Early birds tickets are already sold out and the remaining tickets are expected to sell out fast.
