Melissa McCarthy is a funny woman. She’s also a very stylish one. Which is why Bjournal are super excited that her Spring line for Seven7 has been launched! Not only is it fabulous, it’s also super affordable.

The collection features gorgeous flowing kimonos, adorable sweaters (my favourite is the cat one) as well as awesome jeans and maxi dresses. The collaboration with Seven7 started in November 2014 and the internet when crazy. McCarthy’s incredible red-carpet style combined with her body positive approach to clothing meant that her line was definitely going to be a size-inclusive hit. Her clothing comes in all sizes, telling Women’s Wear Daily “I’m doing all sizes, it’s a strange thing to stop at a certain size. Women don’t, so why should clothes?”.

McCarthy studied at the Fashion Institute of Technology before she ventured into acting, she told WWD “it was everything I ever wanted to do”. Whilst many designers embrace either a straight or plus size exclusivity with their lines, the fact that Melissa McCarthy doesn’t do that is what makes her line so interesting, and wonderful. The sizes begin at a size four and extend to a size twenty-six. When talking about her collection, she says “I’ve always been obsessed with the drape and sex appeal of certain 1970’s dresses” and her obsession has definitely made an impact on the designs in her collection. She is also a huge fan of staple items, particularly the maxi dress, she says “the beauty of the maxi dress is that you can throw it on and feel instantly pulled together. Dressed up with wedges or dressed down with a gladiator sandal, it’s an incredibly versatile piece that should be a staple in every woman’s spring wardrobe.”. You can shop the whole collection on her website.
