Electronic music pioneer returns to Brighton for his only currently announced UK performance of 2026- By Nick Staunton, Editor.
Moby will bring a rare full-band performance to Brighton Beach on Sunday 26 July, closing this year’s On The Beach festival with one of the most anticipated live music events of the summer.
The internationally celebrated musician, producer and songwriter will headline the final day of the festival’s eight-show programme on Brighton’s seafront. The performance is currently Moby’s only announced UK appearance of 2026 and marks his first show in Brighton for more than 25 years.
The event has already sold out, although fans who missed tickets can join the official waiting list for any further availability.
A Landmark Return to Brighton
Moby has sold more than 20 million albums worldwide and remains one of the most influential figures in electronic music.
His landmark 1999 album Play became a defining record of its era, bringing electronic music to a global mainstream audience through tracks including “Porcelain”, “Natural Blues” and “Why Does My Heart Feel So Bad?”
After stepping away from extensive touring for several years, Moby returned to major live performances in 2024 with a series of European shows marking the 25th anniversary of Play. His 2026 schedule is limited to 20 dates worldwide, making the Brighton appearance a particularly rare opportunity for UK audiences.
Unlike a conventional DJ appearance, the On The Beach performance will feature Moby playing with a full live band against the backdrop of Brighton’s coastline.
Max Cooper Joins the Line-Up
Electronic composer and audiovisual artist Max Cooper has also been confirmed for the event, with further performers expected to be announced.
Cooper is known for performances combining electronic music, science and immersive visual design. A former computational biology researcher, he has developed a distinctive live style that explores the relationship between nature, technology and human experience.
His appearance will bring an ambitious visual dimension to the closing day, complementing Moby’s combination of electronic production, live instrumentation and emotionally driven songwriting.
On The Beach Returns for Its Sixth Year
Now entering its sixth year, On The Beach has established itself as one of the defining fixtures of Brighton’s summer calendar.
The festival launched in 2021 and has since brought major electronic and alternative artists to the city’s seafront, including Fatboy Slim, Chase & Status, Bicep, Carl Cox, Eric Prydz, Underworld, Royal Blood, The Libertines and Noel Gallagher’s High Flying Birds.
The 2026 programme features eight events across two weekends in July. Alongside Moby, this year’s bill includes four Fatboy Slim Big Beach Boutique shows, two performances from Madness and a Saturday headline appearance from The Maccabees.
The festival was named Best Location at the 2026 Skiddle Festival Awards, recognising its distinctive setting directly on Brighton Beach.
Event Information
Moby Live takes place on Sunday 26 July at the On The Beach festival site on Brighton Beach, off Madeira Drive, between Brighton Palace Pier and the Marina.
Doors open at 2pm, with the event scheduled to finish at 10.30pm. Last entry is at 6pm.
The event is strictly for people aged 18 and over, with Challenge 25 identification checks operating at the entrance. Attendees should bring an accepted form of photographic identification.
On The Beach is a cashless event. Visitors may bring an empty, reusable non-glass water bottle, with free refill points available throughout the site. Bags must be no larger than A4 size, and all bags will be searched on entry.
There is no re-entry after a ticket has been scanned, meaning attendees leaving the site will not be permitted to return. Whuch can really be a pain in the ……but I supposse Moby calls the shots(.
Festival organisers have also advised visitors to wear footwear suitable for Brighton’s pebble beach and to prepare for changing coastal weather conditions.
Travel and Accessibility
The event site is approximately a 20-minute walk from Brighton railway station. There is no dedicated festival parking, and attendees travelling by car are advised to use city-centre car parks before continuing to the seafront on foot.
Temporary traffic controls and parking restrictions will operate around Madeira Drive, with road closures expected near the end of the event.
Accessible viewing facilities, toilets and support services will be available. Those requiring a personal-assistant ticket or other access arrangements should contact the festival’s accessibility team in advance.
