This September, Moulsecoomb Place will open its doors on Lewes Road, a new creative hub developed by East Brighton Trust and AudioActive to bring a much-needed creative space to one of Brighton’s most underserved neighbourhoods.
The opening comes at a critical time: with over 1,200 youth centres closed since 2010, a quarter of music venues lost since 2020, and two in five grassroots youth music projects at risk of shutting down, the need for trusted, accessible spaces has never been greater.
Moulsecoomb Place will house professional studios, mentoring, shared workspaces and open-access community services, ensuring creativity and support are within reach for local young people and residents.
As AudioActive patron Jordan Stephens (Rizzle Kicks) puts it: “The importance of projects like this can’t be overstated… AudioActive & East Brighton Trust are truly changing the game for young people in Brighton. RESCUE THE ROOTS!”
