- BALLET NIGHTS, the critically-acclaimed programme of classical and modern ballet, live music, and exciting new work takes to the road in March for its first ever regional tour dates. Featuring world-class performers from across the globe, BALLET NIGHTS’ mouth-watering programme of ballet, dance and music will perform this Wednesday March 18th at Brighton Theatre Royal with Tickets £27.00 and £97.00 here
Ballet Nights was founded by its dynamic Artistic Director, Jamiel Devernay-Laurence, who also acts as MC/compère on the night, introducing each performer to the audience with some history and insight of what they’re about to see. One of Ballet Nights’ many unique aspects is the opportunity for audiences to meet the cast of performers after the show.
Says Jamiel about the spring tour:

With ten sellout shows in London and one in Glasgow under our belt, we already know audiences love our one-of-a-kind variety show that blends international ballet stars, contemporary innovators, and exceptional musicians from across the globe. And with the opportunity of meeting the stars of the show post-performance, it means new and existing ballet and music fans get to meet and chat to their favourite performers.
“Brighton is a place that’s very close to my heart; I spent many summers there growing up, visiting my grandparents, walking along the seafront and the Palace Pier – so bringing something I’ve created to Brighton Theatre Royal feels incredibly personal. Brighton audiences are open-minded, playful and artistically engaged, which makes it a perfect home for Ballet Nights. All our artists – from our new names through to our established stars like Royal Ballet Principal Steven McRae are really looking forward to performing at this iconic venue, one of the UK’s oldest theatres.”
The programme features an incredible lineup of stars from the worlds of dance and music. Audiences are guaranteed to thrill to the tap-dancing skill of Royal Ballet Principal Steven McRae (left) who was recently the subject of the BBC TV documentary, ‘Dancing Back to the Light’. Amazon Prime’s Étoile star, London City Ballet performer, and former Scottish Ballet Principal Constance Devernay-Laurence (above left) will perform her compelling solo, ‘I Married Myself’ to the music of Sparks and she will be joined by the internationally acclaimed Ukrainian ballet dancer Denys Cherevychko for the ‘Nutcracker Pas de Deux’.
Denys will also be performing in a solo, ‘Les Bourgeois’ by Belgian choreographer Ben Van Cauwenbergh.
And that’s not all! The fast-rising contemporary dance duo of Nahum McLean and Darius Drooh – together known as BlacBrik (left) – will perform their hugely popular duet, ‘Death of the Bachelors’ to the music of James Brown, and Sam Cooke while the cutting-edge dancers Ekleido will perform their riveting duet, ‘Splice’ to the entrancing score by Floating Points. Critics’ favourites, Pett|Clausen-Knight bring a spell-binding new duet to the stage, ‘AE’, which is danced by company co-founder Travis Clausen-Knight with special guest, Isabelle Evans.
Ballet Nights features a wealth of classical music artists including violist Dominic Stokes – the recent winner of the inaugural Ballet Nights Music Award – who will perform the virtuoso solo ‘Viola Sonata’ by the German composer Paul Hindemith. Dominic will also take to the stage with the emerging powerhouse of musicians, Quartet Concrète and – in an unmissable duet – with ballet dancer Leila Wright (left) in an exciting piece by choreographer Jordan James Bridge.
Each show is compered by Jamiel Devernay-Laurence with warmth, knowledge, and wit.
Ballet Nights: brief history.
BALLET NIGHTS has had a meteoric rise since its modest launch in September 2023 at the intimate, 200-seater Lanterns Studio Theatre in London’s East End. Founder Jamiel Devernay-Laurence’s (left) dream of presenting a world-class mixed programme of classical ballet, contemporary dance, live music and new discoveries to audiences both here and abroad has established Ballet Nights as a creative production powerhouse. Rapidly increasing audiences meant a move to the 900+ seater Cadogan Hall where the organisation presents DecaDance, its 10th programme of Ballet Nights in London in February. Glasgow’s Theatre Royal hosted Ballet Nights’ first UK performance outside London in 2025 – a capacity audience ensured a return booking for 2026. Internationally Ballet Nights has performed in Brisbane, Australia; Bucharest, Romania; and Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
Fundamentally Dance, the organisation that powers the hugely successful Ballet Nights brand, presented another first in December 2025: An Evening with Matthew Ball invited audiences to step inside the world of one of ballet’s most magnetic performers. Royal Ballet Principal Matthew Ball put on a dazzling display of performance and conversation with fellow Royal Ballet Principal Character Artist Kristen McNally to a sellout audience. More ‘Evenings’ are in the pipeline.
What had started off as a bold new vision has matured into an international brand; reimagining what dance can look like for a modern audience has inspired some exciting new ideas.
