The cast of ROYO, Universal Music UK, Sony Music Entertainment and Mighty Village’s production of NOW THAT’S WHAT I CALL A MUSICAL are photographed at Brighton’s iconic indoor flea market, SNOOPER’S PARADISE, following opening night in the seaside city.
The show, which features show-stopping direction and choreography by Craig Revel Horwood (Strictly Come Dancing), plays Theatre Royal Brighton until Sat 7 Dec 2024 and is ‘a fabulous way to head into the festive season’ (Latest Brighton).
The brand-new British musical is written by award-winning comedian Pippa Evans, and features an unbeatable 80s soundtrack and star-studded cast – including special guest and 80s pop icon Sonia, who performs one of her biggest hits, Better The Devil You Know.
Joining Sonia on stage this week are award-winning actress Nina Wadia (EastEnders), who plays Gemma, and West End star Melissa Jacques, who plays April. They are photographed exploring Snoopers Paradise alongside Maia Hawkins, who plays the younger version of April in the show.
One of Brighton’s most eclectic attractions, Snooper’s Paradise is a vintage emporium renowned for its expansive collection of vintage oddities and pre-loved bric-a-brac. Surrounded by paraphernalia of the past, the cast of NOW THAT’S WHAT I CALL A MUSICAL spent time exploring records, clothing, and antique treasures from various eras, including the 80s.
Highlights include Sonia discovering a copy of one of her first records, Listen to Your Heart, which first released in 1989.
A ‘hugely entertaining clap along feel good fest just in time for the Christmas season’ (Brighton Source), NOW THAT’S WHAT I CALL A MUSICAL promises a fun-filled evening bursting with hits from Whitney Houston, Wham!, Blondie, Tears For Fears, Spandau Ballet and so many more.
It’s Birmingham, 1989. Gemma and April, two school friends, are busy with very important business – planning their lives based on Number One Magazine quizzes and dreaming of snogging Rick Astley! Fast forward to Birmingham 2009, and they’re confronted with their worst nightmare: the school reunion…!
As friends reunite, drama unfolds, and old flames reappear…
