Passengers are advised that disruption to Southern, Thameslink, and Gatwick Express services between Brighton and London Victoria is expected to continue throughout the day due to a points failure at London Victoria and an earlier signalling fault on the northbound line between Preston Park and Hassocks.

The issues, which began earlier this morning, have caused significant delays and cancellations across key routes, with commuters facing extended journey times. Southern Rail is working closely with Network Rail engineers to resolve the technical problems, but services remain disrupted as repairs continue.

Affected Routes:

  • Southern services between Brighton and London Victoria
  • Thameslink services via Gatwick Airport
  • Gatwick Express services to and from London Victoria

Passengers are advised to check for updates before traveling and consider alternative routes where possible. Southern Rail is urging travelers to use National Rail Enquiries or the Southern Rail app for live service updates and refund information.

A spokesperson for Southern Rail said, “We understand how frustrating this disruption is for our passengers, and we are doing everything we can to restore services as soon as possible. We apologize for the inconvenience caused and appreciate everyone’s patience.”

Customers affected by cancellations may be entitled to compensation under Southern’s Delay Repay scheme. For more information on how to claim, please visit www.southernrailway.com.
