Hosted by the one-and-only Kayo Opebiyi, Superhappyland Open Mic is one of the best places in Brighton to see emerging comedians try out new material for free.
Nine talented, funny people took to the stage at Junkyard DogsĀ Arts Cafe, Theatre and Bar last Friday to share their best jokes.
The evening didn’t disappoint with every performer managing to entertain and amuse the packed venue with material covering everything from President Elect Donald Trump to the mysteries of gluten-free bread.
Junkyard has a fine selection of beers and wines to help the laughter flow, and if you’re feeling peckish then tuck into one of the venue’s famous hotdogs (pork and vegan options available).
We asked compere Kayo Opebiyi (pictured) how the evening went and he responded in his own, unique style:
“We donāt do Father Christmas at Super Happy Land We do Krampus, with a large helping of Scrooge.
“The Bah Humbug Season at Super Happy Land open mic kicked off in proper Bah Humbug Tradition A Huge Bah Humbug Shout out to the comics and audience, who are now anointed vessels of the Bah Humbug.”

The Superhappyland Open Mic will be back to tickle your funny-bone in the new year with events scheduled for Friday 13 and 27 January.
