We took advantage of the Friday bank holiday to visit The Yellow Book steampunk pub – which has featured on our site before a number of times – and where our sources had told us that ‘steampunk rap superstar’ and infamous Brightonian chap-hop artiste Professor Elemental (above and shortly to be featured) would be performing to a sell-out crowd. As expected Brighton’s vibrant steampunk community was out in force and we took the chance to photograph and talk to some of the beautiful and creative people of our city.

Aaron, Selena and Stuart are all fans of Professor Elemental and were very much looking forward to seeing him perform for the first time for them.

Maria and Herbie were dancing like there was no tomorrow. Both are fans of the professor but this was also the first time they had seen him.

Here we have Sophie, a Brighton goth, and Emily who wore this fabulous hat, which she had originally made for Pirates Day in Hastings.

Here are two of three owners of The Yellow book, and father and son, Alistair and Robert. Both enjoy the steampunk theme. The father designed the pub and his son runs it. Here they can be seen enjoying a good evening after the performance.
