Snow White opens to Sold Out Crowds

Snow White opened at the Devonshire Park Theatre last week to a near sold-out audience who were on their feet at the end of this colourful feast of a pantomime which delivered a slice of pure festive joy.

Eastbourne favourites Martyn Knight, Tucker and Carli Norris were joined by Georgie Hales as Snow White and Ben Tyler as Prince Simon. The show is once again written and directed by Chris Jordan.

Bursting with colour and lots of very silly on-stage antics, the audience was enraptured by the tale of the fairest of them all and were all joining in with deafening cheers – and boo’s when needed (even the teenagers in the audience!). With more than a few surprises in store this is a ticket to guarantee happiness.

There’s so much to get the dopamine, the feel-good hormone, flowing with this show, you’ll be smiling for days after!

From the team behind the last 22 Devonshire Park pantomimes, the tale of Snow White is a traditional family classic given a delicious Eastbourne Theatres twist – packed with live music, beautifully designed costumes and a hugely talented cast.Carli Norris returns to Eastbourne this year as the Wickedest Queen in panto-land, her TV roles inlude EastEnders as Belinda Slater, Holby City, Hollyoaks and Doctors Carli’s West End work includes Pygmalion.

Comic Tucker is Herbie the vegetarian Huntsman who guarantees to bring the laughs and Martyn Knight is back as Dame Dolly the most fabulous Dame to grace the boards at the 140 year old theatre.

Ben Tyler takes the role of Prince Simon, Ben is an established West End performer, most recently starring in The Book of Mormon, his other West End credits include Phantom of the Opera and Les Misérables. Georgie Hales is the picture-perfect Snow White, her previous credits include Peter Pan the Arena Spectacular and she has local links as her family come from Mayfield.

The young company is once more made up of talented local youngsters who were all hand-picked after an intensive audition process which welcomed an absolute wealth of local talent. The Ensemble team of professional dancers include Abi Fullard, Zachary Kirkby, Amy McEvoy and Bastiaan Van Leeuwen who are all having a ball with choreography from Matt Nicholson.

The live band is led by Musical Director Carl Greenwood, with lighting designed by Ryan Tate and sound by Charlie Tipler and Adam Ross, with costumes from Shelley Claridge.
