This month, follow our summer LEGO trail, explore 60 years of Star Trek, discover our new space display and enjoy more of Brighton for less. We’re also celebrating a very special milestone in the Museum’s history – and looking ahead to an exciting new exhibition for 2027.

What’s On This Summer

There’s an extra challenge waiting for visitors to the Museum this summer.

A collection of summer-themed LEGO minifigures has found its way into our galleries – and they’re hiding in some rather unexpected places.

See if you can find them all as you explore the Museum. The minifigures have kindly been provided by Brighton Bricks, who are also running a series of LEGO minifigure trails across Brighton.

The trail is included with Museum admission throughout the summer holidays.

60 Years of Star Trek

Our special 60 Years of Star Trek exhibition continues throughout the summer holidays.

Bringing together around 120 toys, models and pieces of memorabilia, the exhibition explores six decades of one of science fiction’s most recognisable and enduring franchises.

From the original adventures of the USS Enterprise to later generations of Starfleet, the display offers something for lifelong fans and those discovering the Star Trek universe for the first time.

On display until 31 October 2026

Together, they offer a glimpse into the remarkable combination of engineering, innovation and human endeavour that helped make space exploration possible.

Tickets Now Available: Heritage Open Days 2026

We’re pleased to once again be taking part in Heritage Open Days, with special guided tours of the Museum taking place on Saturday 19 September.

Housed within the Victorian arches beneath Brighton Railway Station, Brighton Toy and Model Museum is home to more than 12,000 toys and models, including model trains, construction sets, dolls, puppets and teddy bears.

Our Heritage Open Day tours offer an opportunity to discover more about the history of the Museum, its unusual setting and the remarkable collections it houses.

Saturday 19 September

Tours at 16:00 and 17:00

Places are limited, and advance booking is recommended. Tickets can be booked through the Heritage Open Days website or through our own website.

Celebrating 35 Years

Last month, we were delighted to celebrate the 35th anniversary of Brighton Toy and Model Museum with a special evening for friends, volunteers, supporters and guests.

The occasion also marked the official opening of our transformed Trafalgar Street entrance, the first completed phase of our improvement project and an important milestone in the Museum’s continuing development.

Since opening in 1991, the Museum has welcomed hundreds of thousands of visitors and shared its remarkable collections with generations of families, enthusiasts and school groups.

The anniversary gave us an opportunity to reflect on that history, but most importantly to thank the many people who have helped make it possible.

To our volunteers, donors, members, partners, supporters and visitors – thank you for being part of the Museum’s story.

We look forward to what the next chapter will bring.

Coming in 2027: Captain Scarlet

There is already something rather special taking shape for next year.

To celebrate 60 years of Captain Scarlet, Brighton Toy and Model Museum is working with Anderson Entertainment on a major new exhibition opening on 10 July 2027 – Captain Scarlet Day – and running for a full year.

Co-curated by Malcolm Garrett MBE, Steve Crump OBE and the Anderson Entertainment team, the exhibition will bring together props, models, toys and memorabilia from collections around the world.

Some familiar names are also involved, with collectors including Jonathan Ross, Chris Evans, Simon Cowell, David Baddiel, Sanjeev Bhaskar and Duran Duran’s Nick Rhodes among those associated with the project.

We’re also inviting Captain Scarlet fans to get involved. If you have memorabilia, photographs or stories connected with the series, we’d love to hear from you.
