This weekend, nine of the UK’s breweries are teaming up with nine of the best pubs in Brighton to create the biggest craft beer festival, Brighton Tap Takeover! Run by the Laine Pub Company and the Beer Collective, the Brighton Tap Takeover will see more than 50 craft beers served in pubs across Brighton.
There will be a number of brewers serving their craft beers including North Laine Brewhouse, Signature Brew, Redchurch, Mad Hatter, Cloudwater and so many more. These beers will be sold at some of the best known pubs in the city including the Hope & Ruin, Dead Wax Social and the Black Lion. The North Laine Brewhouse will be the ‘hub’ of the festival, serving all the beers. Gavin George, CEO of the Laine Pub Company told the Morning Advertiser “It’s a unique way to run a craft festival of this size. We wanted to take the beer out of the usual festival venue – the conference centre, town hall and church – and put it in the environment where it tastes the best…the pub.”
All the pubs hosting the festival will also have their own entertainment. Island Records will be curating a night of music at the North Laine Brewhouse and Dead Wax Social are hosting Top Of The Hops in which each of the brewers bring their favourite tracks on vinyl. The festival has also partnered with two photography organisations to host the first ever exhibition featuring pictures on beer mats. There will only be 500 editions of each beer mat available, so tegestologists (beer mat collections, obviously) will have to be quick to collect the full set.
For £15, you can buy a wristband in advance to receive 20% off beers all weekend and receive a bag of limited edition merchandise. You can either grab the wristband at the North Laine Brewhouse or at the Tap Takeover website.
