Summer is apparently here!
Although it might not seem like it yet, the first days of summer are already among us and it’s full BBQ season. However, if you’re looking for a break from the grill and are bored of the Euro’s dominating pubs all over, we’ve taken a look at some of the best places in Brighton to go and get the perfect summer drink – a cocktail.
From the extravagant to the subtle there will be a cocktail for you, and with this list we’ve highlighted the best places to go for atmosphere, value for money and quality of cocktail.
Shuffle is perhaps the obvious choice for cocktail lovers in Brighton. Situated on York Place, Shuffle offers a ridiculous amount of variety of cocktails. Shuffle offers an extensive list of cocktails based around all the house spirits, as well as a selection of in house specials and exclusive drinks. The price of cocktails varies, but with drink deals during the week you are sure to find something to suit your budget. As well as offering food, an added quirk of Shuffle is it’s option to play your own songs through its online stereo, so you can relax to your own custom playlist and enjoy some of their great valued beverages. We recommend a Matt The Rat.
Bohemia offers great cocktails in a great setting. Somewhat hidden away in the Lanes, Bohemia boasts a great menu of interesting and unique cocktails that you won’t find anywhere else in Brighton. The price is a little more than some of the others on this list but you really do pay for quality in Bohemia; all bartenders are professionally trained and their service reflects that. Their cocktails, paired with the roof garden setting is the perfect place to escape the 9-5 and enjoy the Brighton sunshine. We recommend a Rock and Rhubarb.
The Plotting Parlour advertises itself as the only table service cocktail bar in Brighton. So, if you do not feel like standing at a crowded bar and juggling 4 drinks back toyour table, then this could be the answer. The Plotting Parlour’s cocktails are all excellent, and it’s atmosphere is very relaxing. The cocktails are all presented in unique and professional ways, all with their own quirks. A hidden away cove perfect for enjoying a drink or 5 this summer. We recommend a Sage Against The Machine.
Twisted Lemon is a really hidden away gem. In the heart of the Lanes, you’ll find the Twisted Lemon down a small alleyway removed from view. Perfect for anyone looking for a quiet drink in a small but cosy atmosphere. There is a happy hour that brings the price down, and other drink deals throughout the week, too. Twisted Lemon may be small but the quality of their cocktails is unrivalled, from classics to more unique drinks the Twisted Lemon has it covered. Serving great pizza and nachos as well, the Twisted Lemon really is a great choice for anyone looking to escape the city a little bit and enjoy some amazingly bizarre combinations of drinks. We recommend their Espresso Martini
