The Brighton Fringe is well and truly underway! The weekend saw the opening of The Warren as well as the annual Childrens Parade kicking off 2018’s jam packed calendar. But which of the upcoming events can you enjoy for free?
The Warren
This fantastically popular venue is open daily throughout May and is completely free to enter! Whilst most of the events held at The Warren are ticketed, there’s plenty of outside seating to soak up sunshine – they also hold Story Corner daily at 9.30am, during which stories are read by a different guest to to the delight of attendees, and is free! The Warren is complete with bars, food stalls and a family area, a day could easily be whiled away in this great venue in the centre of town.
Secrets From Within the Human Body
Something a little different for Science enthusiasts and novices alike; this interactive workshop involves a live exploration of the human body using ultra-sound, as well as non-human (!!) dissection. Held by anatomists at Brighton and Sussex Medical School, this a rare opportunity to gain deeper understanding of our bodies and how they work.

Woods and Water: Sussex Landscapes by Eva Peel
This exhibition, showing at the Jubilee Library features the work of Eva Peel, who grew up in Sussex and loves the challenge of capturing the countryside’s shifting colours and light. Eva prefers to create her work outside using a palette knife and a combination of oil pastel and acrylic on canvas, in the landscapes she is capturing.

Fringe Sessions @ The Fiddlers Elbow
The Fiddlers Elbow will play host to some of Brighton’s best artists this May, including Warsaw Radio, Paul Murray, Edd Mann, Night House, Della Lupa, Kev Minne, all of which are completely free at a fantastic Brighton pub so nothing’s stopping you!

Sex & Pugs & Rock & Lols @ The Caxton Arms
The Fringe is awash with comedy nights, making it pretty hard to get to them all, but this one sees three of Brighton’s comedy scene regulars so is bound to be a good’n. Katherine Atkinson, Sarah Charsley and Ben Carter explore what they describe as life’s greatest issues sex, dogs and music, in a hour of stand up at The Caxton Arms.
