In homage to the current construction of The British Airways i360 todays cartoon is truly promoting satire at its finest. For those of you that are blissfully unaware of today’s cartoon meaning, you’ll soon become very aware come August 2016 when Brighton will officially be the host to a 162 metre observation tower called the British Airways i360.Currently under construction since 2014 next to the disused West Pier, The British Airways i360 will feature an ascending and descending viewing platform allowing beautiful views along the coast, across the South Downs and across the English Channel. The project is engineered by the team responsible for the London Eye and estimates a whopping attraction of 739,000 paying customers per year. The team also expects the Brighton i360 to be a Guinness World record holder as ‘the world’s slenderest tall tower’. Some locals have campaigned against the future tower labelling it the ‘iSore’. However with high predicted profit margins and the boasting of 360 degree views for 26 miles plus discounted tickets for Brighton residents it’s hard not to look forward to a ride on the i360. Bring on the summer.
