Acclaimed writer, theatre maker, and comedian from Bristol, Amy Mason, kicks off the new year with her UK stand-up tour, Free Mason. Dates will include a night at Brighton at Komedia, 6 Feb 2025.

Free Mason received multiple 4 star reviews at Edinburgh Fringe Festival 2024, and was named as having one of the Guardian’s 10 funniest jokes at Ed Fringe 2024. The debut stand-up hour from the “brilliant” (Bridget Christie) comedian and writer reflects on coming out in your 30s, rinsing homophobes, and forming a coven with your kids. The Funny Woman Comedy Writing Award finalist explores what it means to be a human animal (nightmare, tbh) after an unsettling encounter with a wildlife enthusiast.

“Free Mason is a wonderful example of belated, begrudging self-acceptance channelled into a flourishing personality and consistently very funny performance”

★★★★ The Scotsman

Reaching over 11 million views on TikTok, Amy Mason lives up to her “personal, but totally universal” (WhatsOnStage) demeanour, engaging audiences with “charmingly poignant and funny” (Herald) and “cheekily boundary-pushing” (The Scotsman) storytelling.

You would have heard Amy on BBC Radio 1, Radio 4, and Radio 5 live, and on The News Quiz, and Hypothetical (Dave). Shortlisted for BBC New Act of the Year 2022, this astounding “born comic” (Bridget Christie) has multiple TV shows in development with production companies including Clerkenwell and BBC Studios.

“Tonight we discovered a genius called Amy Mason. Find her, watch her” Dawn O’Porter
