There is loads of live music in Brighton this week. From the small to the established, there will be a gig for you somewhere! Have a look at some of this weeks top picks, and maybe discover your new favourite band. 

Wooden Arms

Monday 4th July: Monday sees contemporary quintet Wooden Arms come to Brighton. An unusual set up for an indie band, the Norwich born group are comprised of strings and pianos to conjure up an interesting mix of classical music with more alternative undertones. Wooden Arms are at the Hope and Ruin with support coming from Abi Wade. Tickets are here.  Also on Monday night at Komedia is LOVE Revisited who are celebrating the passing of Arthur Lee ten years on. His longest serving group, LOVE Revisited will be performing all the greatest hits. Tickets here.

Novo Amor
Novo Amor is at the Prince Albert on Tuesday

Tuesday 5th July: Novo Armor AKA Ali John Meredith-Lacey is making a stop by the seaside as a part of his July tour. The multi instrumentalist is currently working on a full length album, so this is a great opportunity to see him before he makes it big. Get tickets for his show at the Prince Albert here. Also on at Komedia this week is American composer Victor Wooten. Having won 5 Grammy Awards this would be a great chance to see a critically acclaimed performer in a smaller venue. Finally Lolo Colt will be bringing their live show to Brighton. The indie band are stopping off at the Hope & Ruin in what will be the first gig of their new tour. Tickets here.

The Lighthouse Family will be by the seaside…

Wednesday 6th July: There is only one gig this Wednesday and that is Tunde – The Voice of the Lighthouse Family. The show, at Komedia, is a mix of 70s influenced music with The Lighthouse Family reaching over 1.4 million record sales – not one to be missed. Get tickets here.

John Coffey will bring their energetic live show to Sticky Mikes

Thursday 7th July:  Dutch rock band John Coffey will be at Sticky Mikes frog bar on Thursday. The hardcore band are about to go on hiatus so this could be one of the last chances to see them live, so get your tickets here! There is a huge night of music at the Hope & Ruin as Neon Tribes are supported by Heath and Roxy Sounds.  This is great value for money, seeing three upcoming bands for the price of one – get tickets for the night here.

Kid Creole will be a night to remember, not just for the trousers.

Friday 8th July: Concorde 2 is hosting Kid Creole and The Coconuts this Friday night. The veteran big band group are bringing their historic live show to Concorde 2 this weekend, these really are classics so don’t miss the chance to see them. Tickets are still available as well. Finally, Flamingods are on at the Hope & Ruin this Friday. The group, formed in Bahrain, are a multi instrumentalist rock band and perfect for anyone looking for something a bit different this Friday night. Tickets here.
