Fans may be waiting a long time for Twin Peaks to return to the small screen (a year, in fact) but over Easter weekend, they will be given the chance to watch every single episode, back to back. The Twin Peaks marathon is taking place at our very own Duke Of York’s Picturehouse cinema, starting on Easter Saturday and ending a huge thirty-six hours later.

Duke of York’s is showing the cult TV show over Easter weekend
The cinema said “we will play every single episode from both series back-to-back. There will be coffee and doughnuts aplenty as well as regular breaks to make sure you stay sane”. The show, created by David Lynch, told the story of an FBI Special Agent looking into the murder of homecoming queen in a mysterious town. The new series will take place 25 years after the last original season aired, which was in 1991. The revival has caused excitement amongst fans, with Kyle MacLachlan returning along with new cast members such as Amanda Seyfriend, Naomi Watts and Ashley Judd.

Every episode of the new series will be directed by David Lynch…obviously.

In 2012, Duke of York’s was voted best cinema in the UK and counts Brighton residents Nick Cave, John Hillcoat and Steve Coogan as patrons. The cinema plays host to Brighton Film Festival and CineCity which is organised between the cinema and University of Brighton. The cinema regularly hosts events such as fancy-dress film premieres, late night cult screenings and Lord of the Rings marathons, so there is no better place to host the Twin Peaks marathon than Duke’s. You can find tickets here.
