A horrific flat fire in Sussex has led to a tragic death, as a 53-year-old woman was pronounced dead at the scene of her Crawley home. They could not resuscitate the woman, despite having carried out extensive CPR.
The event occurred on Wednesday the 11th of July, with emergency services called to the scene at around 5:38pm.
Sussex Police are treating the death as highly suspicious, and have already made two arrests, moving swiftly in their investigations. They discovered two men at the site of the fire, and have arrested both. They still remain in custody on suspicion of murder.
The fire only stayed in one room, but police as of yet have not been able to come to the end of their forensic tests due to the damage at the scene. They have not given further details.
Police are not looking for other suspects in relation to the murder. They are, however, still interested in receiving any information which may speed up their investigations.
They have requested that anyone with information be sure to “report it online or call 101 quoting Operation Brevis.”
They alternately suggest that “you can visit the Crimestoppers website or contact the independent charity anonymously on 0800 555 111.”
