If you are planning on driving through the city centre this Saturday, prepare for delays and detours as some of Brighton’s streets will be closed due to the annual children’s parade that marks the opening of Brighton Festival. Over 5000 children from more than 80 schools are expected to take part in the event.
The parade will start at 10:30am on Saturday in Kensington Street and slowly make its way through the city centre down to the seafront. Jubilee Street, New Road, North Street, East Street, Grand Junction Road and Madeira Drive will be closed for traffic during certain times. Car drivers in this area thus have to prepare for delays during the parade which is expected to be over by 1pm.
