We asked your friendly faces what England’s national anthem should be, here are your brilliant responses:
“Ghost Town – The Specials.”
“Nobody Knows You When You’re Down and Out – Jimmy Cox.”
“I have no idea, I don’t think it deserves one.”
“Can we use another country’s national anthem? O Canada!”
“Panic (on the Streets of London) – The Smiths.”

“Queen Bitch – David Bowie.”
“Wonderwall – Oasis.”
“Things Can Only Get Better – D:Ream.”

“Jerusalem isn’t a good one because it’s actually quite critical, isn’t it? Dark Satanic mills and all that stuff. God Save the Queen, I suppose, isn’t a million miles from Rule Britannia. I think, to be honest about it, it’s a case of if it ain’t broke don’t fix it. Don’t see any reason to change it, I think there are far more pressing issues going on at the moment. Definitely not Jerusalem, and definitely not that awful Smiths song.”

“I’ll take Billy Connolly’s advice who reckoned it should be the theme tune from The Archers.”
“London Calling – The Clash.”
“God Save the Queen all the way!”
“Certainly not God Save the Queen, The Archers theme is nice and cheerful, Land of Hope and Glory as good background music but not with those words.”

“No religion in it! I have an open mind but it’s fine as it is really.”
