Midnight Mass
Go to Midnight Mass, a long standing Western Christian tradition, it has also become a Christmas one. It is a jubilant celebration of Mass in honour of the nativity of Jesus. With church candles and song it is the epitome of Christmas and is the way in which Christmas Eve has been celebrated for centuries. Enjoy a festive drink in an atmosphere which is equally as festive, give one of Brighton’s festive bars a try this Christmas Eve. Just don’t have too many otherwise you risk ruining the big day for yourself!

Make Mulled Wine
Heat up some mulled wine, add some cinnamon sticks, orange and other spices. Perfect to fill your home with beautiful christmassy smells in preparation for the next day. Have a hot cup while you wrap presents or relax before bed.

A real classic! Baking mince pies is a great way to get in the festive mood and prepare a lovely home made dessert for the next day. Easy to make, with just pastry and fruit mince meat, shop bought easy roll pastry is just as good. Fun to do with children too! Don’t forget to leave one out for Santa..
