It’s Friday which means it’s time for our what’s on!! Laugh your way into next week or become a Dinosaur Detective, there’s something on for everyone this weekend.

Austerity Pleasures: Join some incredible comedians for a hilarious satirical comedy show. After debuting his full hour at the Edinburgh Fringe last year, James Ross already runs his own ‘Quantum Leopard’ comedy night in London. He’s joined by Declan Kennedy and resident act Dan Wright. Headlining the night is Chris Purchase who has recently toured with Reginald D Hunter and is about to embark on his first solo tour around the UK. Tickets are £3 in advance, which you can buy here, and there will be some limited tickets available on the night for £7.

Tour of The Old Ship: The Old Ship Hotel dates back to 1559 and has been frequented by royalty, aristocrats and artists. The grade II listed assembly rooms are something to be admired. Take a tour of the oldest hotel in Brighton and admire its rich history. There’s no need to book, the tour starts at 6pm and runs for 80 minutes.

The Treason Show: After a sell-out run at the Dome, the Treason team are back at the Rialto for more satirical silliness. The show is on both Friday and Saturday and you can buy tickets here.
Chinese New Year: It’s Chinese New Year on Monday and the Clarendon Centre are doing something wonderful to celebrate this weekend. There will be Chinese festival food stalls, lion dance, singing, traditional instruments and dancing to celebrate the year of the Monkey! It’s on from 12pm until 4pm and children under 12 go free!

Ancient Oceans: A brand new journey is coming to the Sea Life Centre this weekend! Become a Dinosaur Detective and journey back in time to when fearsome creatures lurked in the deep depths of the sea. Complete the challenges and earn your Dinosaur Detective certificate. There will be a host of activities and talks taking place and gives children a chance to explore displays and get up close and personal with some prehistoric relatives like sharks and turtles.
