Brighton XR Bike Squad @ The Level, Friday 30th August
The Extinction Rebellion Brighton Bike Squad will be taking to the streets this Friday to highlight the climate and ecological crisis, all whilst creating an inclusive summer bike ride through the streets of Brighton. The group will be meeting up at 6pm at The Level, so come along to collect banners and a quick briefing on the route. They’re encouraging anybody on skateboards, rollerblades, roller-skates, electric scooters and mobility vehicles to also come along. Children are welcome.

Virtually Behind the Scenes @ Booth Museum of Natural History, Friday 30th August
The Booth Museum of Natural History is all about birds, butterflies, fossils and bones. It’s one of Brighton’s hidden gems, and the museum’s collection of taxidermy birds is one of the largest in the UK. Have you ever wondered what takes place behind the scenes? Now’s your chance to find out about all the extra projects taking place with Lee Ismail, the Booth Museum Curator of Natural Sciences. Open to all ages!

Brighton Pillow Fight! @ The Level, Saturday 31st August
That’s right, the infamous Brighton pillow fight is back and bigger than ever. Bring out the inner child in you, because it’s time for a rematch. All you need to do is bring a pillow and have a swing! Kids are more than welcome, but anyone who plans on bringing a pet is encouraged to watch from the sidelines. Free Beginners Swing Dance Class @ Open Space Studios, Saturday 31st August
Time to get your dancing shoes on, as Brighton Lindyhoppers are hosting a free beginners swing dance class this Saturday! It’s a perfect opportunity for anyone with no experience of the amazing 1930s lindy hop dance to learn the ropes. You don’t need a partner or any special clothing, and it’s a great way to both meet like-minded people and unearth a new passion.

CHALK BACK Brighton @ Theatre Royal Brighton, Saturday 31st August
Chalk Back Brighton will be a public event held on New Road, encouraging members of the public to chalk their catcalls to raise awareness of street harassment. Come down and chalk your own catcalling experiences and take back the streets! Or, if you don’t want to chalk, feel free to support the crowd and find out more about the movement. Chalk Back Brighton is part of a larger global campaign, check out their website for more information.

Silent Disco Beach Clean: 90s vs 00s @ The Tempest Inn, Sunday 1st September
Hosted by Pier 2 Pier beach clean, this event is a fantastic way to get out and have fun with friends, all whilst doing your bit for the planet. This weekend will mark the first ever Battle-of-the-Decades beach clean. It’s time for a trip down musical memory lane. Will you be repping the nineties or noughties? Lush will also be at the event to show you how to make your own bubble-bar, whilst Bird & Blend Tea Co. will be serving tea to anyone who brings their own cup. Don’t forget to enter the 90s/00s fancy dress competition. Let the battle commence.

Brighton Level’s Sunday Market @ The Level, Sunday 1st September
So much going on at the lovely Level this weekend! Fingers crossed for the sunshine, as this is a perfect opportunity to browse Brighton’s finest handmade and vintage goods, fresh produce, tasty treats, global street food and entertainment. Treat yourself to a Sunday Funday in support of Brighton’s independent businesses, makers, growers, chefs and bakers. It’s set to be the last Level Sunday market of 2019, so make sure to catch it before its close.

Brighton Beach’s Unusual History @ The Southern Belle Pub, Sunday 1st September
Join an experienced guide to take an entertaining virtual tour through the long history of Brighton’s beach, from bathing machines to nudist beaches, strolls on the promenade to mods and rockers fighting on the front. Even a Brightonian know-it-all is bound to learn something new. Plus, £2 from every ticket sale will go towards the “Save Madeira Terrace” campaign. Fantastic stuff.
