Friday 31st January

Slim Aarons Poolside Party at artrepublic Gallery

Photography enthusiasts rejoice as Slim Aarons comes to the seaside city of Brighton! To commemorate 50 years since he captured the iconic Poolside Gossip, artgallery is hosting a ‘Poolside Party’ set with classy cocktails, pool party tunes and displaying Aarons’ classics. The Vice President of Getty Images Archive (where the collection has been stored for over 20 years), Matthew Butson, is also due to make an appearance on the night to present a talk about Aarons himself.

Bushfire Beats at North Laine Brewhouse

The devasting bushfire crises of Australia were subject to great pain and heartbreak from people all around the globe. To raise money for bushfire relief, Bushfire Beats and North Laine Brewhouse are joining forces to host a fundraising night where 100% of the proceeds will go to The Bendigo Bank Bushfire Disaster Appeal and Wildlife Victoria charities. With a night filled with live music from local artists and bands, raffle draw, axe throwing and lots of beer, it’s a great light-hearted way to help those across the world in need!

Saturday 1st February

Yoga in the Sky at the British Airways i360

Leave all the week’s stress behind by indulging in tranquil yoga and pilates sky high in the i360. For one hour, you can alleviate all tension and embody calmness as you go up the pod to 450ft high, overlooking the beautiful South Downs and the Sussex coast. An optional group breakfast trip to the West Beach Bar and Kitchen is also available for those who feel peckish after.

Bombay Bicycle Club at the Brighton Centre

Following the end of their three-year hiatus last January, North London’s finest indie-rock quartet, Bombay Bicycle Club, are due to embrace the stage of the Brighton Centre as part of their thirteen dated UK tour. To mark their return, they released their latest album Everything Has Gone Wrong earlier this month, from which they will perform some songs from as well as fan favourites Always Like This and Luna. Support comes from The Big Moon and Liz Lawrence.

Mall Grab at Patterns

House and techno royalty Mall Grab marks his eagerly awaited return to Patterns this weekend. With the release of his latest EPs Don’t Keep the Fire Burning (with proceeds being donated to his hometown’s bushfire relief in Australia) and Share a View (a remix album in collaboration iconic hardcore punk band Turnstile) expect the unexpected for a genre-bending night. The show-stopping producer has sold out multiple venues across the UK so expect this intimate show to be filled with thrill-induced beats as fans and techno fans alike dance the night away in pure euphoria.

Sunday 2nd February

Palmeira Mansions Tour in Hove

Travel back in time to the Victorian era as you wander through Palmeira Mansions in Hove, revealing etiquettes of rich gentlemen living there at the time. The spectacular and beautiful interior of the mansion (which has been listed as grade II*) has remained intact throughout the years and comprises of unique Victorian fixtures and fittings. Witness something exceptional this weekend as this house is rarely open to the public. Luckily there’s no need to pre-book, just pay with cash when you arrive!

Drawing in Stitch at New England House

Unwind this weekend by taking up a new, relaxing hobby by learning to draw through stitching. This day-long workshop run by Shelley Morrow invites people of all experiences and abilities, even complete learners. With the first half of the course guiding you through existing drawings, the latter half will allow the audience to creatively express themselves. Equipment and refreshments are included in the price!
