Komedia Productions is delighted to announce the launch of the Young Komedians Project, a brand-new series of weekly comedy workshops held at Komedia, Brighton’s home of comedy. These workshops are designed for young people aged 13–16 who love performing, storytelling, and making people laugh.
Taking place every Monday at 4.15pm from 15 June to 13 July, the programme offers a unique opportunity for young participants to explore a variety of comedy styles in a fun, supportive, and inclusive environment.
Supported by the Enjoolata Foundation, Young Komedians welcomes everyone—from aspiring performers to those who simply enjoy being creative and a little bit silly. No previous comedy experience is required.
The workshops will feature an exciting line-up of guest hosts, including:
- Tom Veryzer – stand-up comedian and happiness facilitator
- Nico Tatarowicz – comedy writer for The Armstrong & Miller Show
- Oro Rose – local comedian and runner-up in the Komedia New Comedy Award and So You Think You’re Funny finalist?
Participants will have the chance to explore a range of comedy disciplines, including sketch writing, improvisation, character comedy, and clowning. Along the way, they will build confidence, develop performance and communication skills, make new friends, and discover potential creative career pathways.
The Young Komedians Project aims to provide a welcoming space where young people can express themselves, experiment creatively, and enjoy the many benefits of laughter and collaboration.
The course is £75 for five weekly sessions of 90 minutes. Places can be booked at komedia.co.uk.
A limited number of free places are available for young people who may otherwise be unable to attend.
