Celebrating Pride at The Lantern

Tuesday 4th – Wednesday 5th August

Shadowed Dreamer is the story of a boy’s search for survival and a man’s quest for the future he knows he deserves.

Written and performed by Stephen Hart, in a show the New York Times described as “vital, necessary theatre.”

A story of survival, determination and belief that will inspire you.

Thursday 6th August – Saturday 8th August

Thick As Thieves present QUEERS – a series of dramatic monologues set between 1917 and 2017.

These punchy, time-travelling rites-of-passage stories blend the personal and the political. From a WWI soldier’s hidden love to the shadows of the HIV/AIDS crisis and modern marriage, it’s a journey through how far we’ve come and the hurdles still left to clear – a century of Queer history told through eight powerful stories by six incredibly talented local actors.

ACT New Plays New Playwrights : Staged Readings

New plays from students of ACT’s Introduction to Playwriting Course. Each student on the course has created an original play and will present a 20-minute extract, performed script-in-hand by professional actors. This is a fantastic opportunity to see brand-new writing come to life on stage for the very first time.
