The Hoosiers are bringing their full-band live show to Brighton this autumn, with a stop at Chalk on Friday 16 October as part of a ten-date UK tour.
Known for their infectious hooks, sharp lyricism and high-energy live shows, the duo have been a staple on the live circuit for two decades. Acclaimed singles like “Worried About Ray,” “Goodbye Mr A” and “Choices” built their name in the UK indie-pop scene, and a new record shows they’re still at the peak of their powers — this looks set to be a night packed with high energy and nostalgia in equal measure.
The tour follows a packed-out record store acoustic run celebrating the release of their new album, Compassion. This time round, the full band joins them, giving the show its dynamic, high-octane performance style. Expect singalong choruses, hands-in-the-air moments, and plenty of chances to dance along with friends and family.
The band themselves describe it as a night for those who’ve been fans since the first record, or are only just discovering them now — a chance to catch a beloved name from the UK indie-pop scene and shake off the post-summer blues.
Brighton Local Angle: Chalk has become one of Brighton’s most consistently booked mid-size venues for touring acts, having hosted everyone from REEF to Nouvelle Vague in recent years. With Brighton positioned roughly two-thirds through the tour’s run, local fans get one of the more intimate stops before the tour wraps in Southampton, and given the venue’s track record for reliable turnout, it’s worth checking Brighton’s autumn events calendar and booking early.
