Brighton delivers this weekend across every level — big venue headline shows, intimate gigs, club nights and classical music all happening within walking distance of each other. Here is what is worth your time.

This is a proper Brighton weekend — the kind where you can go from a classical concert at the Dome in the afternoon to a drum and bass night at Quarters in the evening and both feel completely natural. The city’s ability to hold all of that simultaneously without any of it feeling forced is what makes it unlike anywhere else on the south coast.

Friday 17 April

Frank Turner kicks off the weekend at CHALK with his Campfire Punkrock Twenty Tour, joined by Dave Hause and Katacombs. Turner is one of the most reliably brilliant live acts in British music and CHALK suits him well — it’s worth checking returns if you don’t have tickets. Also on Friday, Brown Horse plays the Hope and Ruin with doors at 8pm — a good shout if you prefer something smaller and more intimate to close the week.

Saturday 18 April

The biggest show of the weekend is Blue’s 25th Anniversary Tour at the Brighton Centre with special guests 911 — doors at 6:30pm. If that’s your era this is the one. Tickets still available.

For something completely different, Mungo’s Hi Fi headline Concorde 2 alongside Gardna and Flakes — one of the best sound system acts in the UK doing what they do best in one of Brighton’s finest rooms. Across town, Oden and Fatzo bring their DOT Events night to Quarters — the iconic French electronic duo in one of Brighton’s most intimate club spaces. Also Saturday at Patterns, A Guy Called Gerald plays a rare live set — a genuine electronic music legend.

At Brighton Dome the Brighton Philharmonic Orchestra performs as part of their 2025/26 season from £1 — one of the best value cultural offers in the city.

For experimental music fans, The Old Market runs the final night of Brighton’s international experimental music festival — ninth edition — covering improvisation, noise, sound poetry and electro-acoustic minimalism from revered avant-garde figures and local artists.

RnB Mania takes over CHALK on Saturday evening for the best of 90s and 00s R&B — a different crowd to the Mungo’s show but an equally good night if that’s your thing.

Sunday 19 April

Son Little plays DUST on Sunday evening with Nyah Grace supporting — doors at 7pm. Son Little is a genuinely special live act and DUST is a venue worth getting to know. Limited tickets remaining.

Lime Garden headline the Green Door Store alongside Hot Wax, Lonnie Gunn and Magda — a strong indie bill in the best grassroots venue in the city, tucked under the arches beneath Brighton station.

At The Old Market on Sunday evening, Apphia Campbell’s acclaimed one-woman play about a civil rights activist runs at 7pm — limited availability so book ahead.

The Brighton Dome Corn Exchange hosts a Coffee Concert on Sunday from £20 — classical music in a relaxed daytime setting, ideal if you want culture without the evening commitment.

Nico Bones and The XLNTs close Sunday at the Prince Albert with doors at 8pm — live rock and roll to end the weekend on the right note.
